An evolving, curated space in devotion to

Yongdzin Rinpoche

Yongdzin Rinpoche (1926-2025)

Your own mind is the root of both happiness and suffering. Knowing how to train it in a positive way, that is the basis for happiness, merely following the passion of your mind, that is the basis for the ocean of miseries and sufferings. Thus if you know how to choose the right way, you are an excellent person.

Sangha Tributes

  • André Walsh

I met Yongdzin Rinpoche last October (2024) in Kathmandou, I was very impressed and touched to see him and had his blessing.

  • Gerry Heikes

In a commentary on Ngondro and Gnozhi from the ZZNG Cycle of Dzogchen, Rinpoche posed the questions:

“In how many previous births did you encounter the Dzogchen teachings? And in all of those births what was the result? So why is it now that you’ve encountered these precious teachings you don’t practice?”

Needless to say I was very much inspired to practice.

  • Marko Meretvuo

I never met Yongdzin Rinpoche, but his picture was (and is) on my home altar.

Picture that is originally from a flyer of a 2020 documentary movie brings a blissful happiness every time I see it.

It encourages me to understand that even in dark times we live, a true wisdom is still alive, like a light of a lamp shining in the night.

  • Sebastian Stoopen

Yongdzin Rinpoche touched my heart the moment I met him. I was fortunate enough to receive teachings from him in Mexico, France and Nepal.

He continues to be the light that guides my mind through this life, and I can’t be thankful enough.

  • Niki Major

I am very grateful I took refuge by His Eminence Yondzin Rinpoche.

    Final Transmission

    And yet—

I failed to imagine the depth of your compassion, that you might leave something behind for a disciple who arrived too late.

You left me with the most profound and silent transmission:

    Beyond grasping, naturally present,

The Buddha nature radiates beyond body, beyond sight, beyond words,

    beyond all conceptualisations.

    Now I know:

Your clarity passed even through walls—

    Needing no form, no medium.

We two met at the very edge of physical reality,

at the crossing point between life and dissolution.

    A mandala, fully completed.

I met my beloved root master Yongdzin Rinpoche for the first time in 2014 in Shenten Dargye Ling. I felt immediately a very strong connection and devotion to him and the lineage and took refuge to him. Meeting him has been the most fortunate thing in my life and I am forever deeply grateful for having received his precious teachings, blessings and advice. Yongzin Rinpoche is in my heart always.

  • Willy Saint-Aimé

He saved my life, I took refuge with him in Shenten Dargyeling, France, June 2014.

The greatest blessing in my existence is your presence in my central channel. You always had the patience to give us all what we needed with your great compassion. Luminous sustainer. Eternal flame.Thank you for being my spiritual father, beloved root master. Today I pay homage to the great jewel.

I was fortunate to meet Yongdzin Rinpoche 25 years ago, during my first ever retreat. Next year the Refuge ceremony followed and I received from Rinpoche my Tibetan name. I was able to meet Yongdzin Rinpoche several times thereafter. Years later I received from Rinpoche the formal introduction to the Nature of Mind.

Rinpoche's presence, teachings and blessings changed me, my whole life and the life of my family.

In endless gratitude, I have always felt Yongdzin Rinpoche's presence and blessings during retreats and personal meetings, when He was far away and now, after His passing.
